Back at Camp and the hike out

Back at camp at Iceberg Lake below the East Face of Whitney.  We packed up the next day and had the traditional Gungi Din Burger at the Mt. Whitney Restaurant.

The hike out afforded us some time to take some photos.  This one was taken from Lower Boy Scout Lake.  The trail goes to the left of the slabs and then crosses the talus slopes in the center of the picture.   

We hiked out on Friday and saw literally hoards of people on their way up the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek to do Whitney.  Some parties looked strong, others would be lucky to make it to Iceberg by sundown.  I am sure most will find the adventure and challenges they are seeking as John and I did on this trip. 
I would highly recommend the Fishhook Arete as a classic.  Have fun, climb on.
